Ever wonder what happens in preparation and behind the scenes of a fashion photoshoot? Look no further. We’re giving you an exclusive peek into all the fun and work that went into our Summer Lookbook fashion photoshoot! For a fashion photoshoot to function and come together, there are a lot of pieces to coordinate. We have to schedule a model, coordinate times with the photographer, scout the perfect location, and make sure all the clothes we are going to shoot come in on time. The weather comes into play also, and if rain is in the forecast it could cause the photoshoot to be rescheduled.
Days before the shoot happens we bring the clothes to our studio space and start to steam and style them. The boutique owners hand pick dresses, tops, bottoms, and accessories for the photoshoot, and for what will be shown on our online boutique. We’ve already talked to the model so we know the appropriate sizes to pull and get ready. Descriptions and measurements also need to be done to make sure items are ready to upload.
The morning of the shoot starts bright and early. The stylist, the photographer, and the boutique owners arrive at 8:15am to make sure things are organized and our game plan is unanimous before the model arrives at 9am. We decide on a few key off-site locations and which clothing items will be shot there. Our shoots normally last about three to four hours. In that time we want to get product shots done for the website, detail shots of accessories and clothing, and shots that can be used for landing pages! Once all photo's are taken, the photographer then has to edit each photo. Then time is taken to piece the lookbook together, decide on graphics, and upload items to website.
Of course photoshoots aren’t all work! We keep things fun with styling and coming up with new ideas for each season, always keeping in mind what our goal for the finished product is and what our customer wants to see!
