Its safe to assume the off-the-shoulder trend is the hottest thing since sliced bread. I, my friends, my friend's friends, designers and celebrities alike can not help but jump on board with this easy, breezy style. Its style evolution can be tracked from way back to the 50's, where style mavens like Bridget Bardot donned this subtly sexy style. More recently, though, we can track the modern day transition from the cold-shoulder top, with its peek-a-boo cutouts to the slightly more daring slouchy, elastic, optional off-the-shoulder blouse to finally the subtly sexy, full on off-the-shoulder style. As you can see, this trend has levels. If you're not on board yet but are curiously watching from afar, the cold shoulder top is the best way for you to test the waters.
Wherever you are on the show-some-shoulder spectrum, this style is appropriate for both casual occasions to a fancy night out. Check out some of our favorite ways to don this look.
Blogger Ashley of Twentiesgirlstyle rocks the off-the-shoulder look this summer in a simple and flirty way! Dress this top down by tucking it in to ripped denim jean shorts like she did. Take this bright orange top into the evening by pairing it with a tight pencil skirt or ankle length skinnies. Any way you pair it, you can't go wrong! Accessorize with neutrals and small pops of color.
