Personalize Your Holiday Décor with These DIY Christmas Ornaments!
Posted: Dec 18 2017
One of our favorite things about the holiday season is coming up with unique ways to create festive spaces. Filling transparent ornaments is a fun, do-it-yourself décor idea that we recently tried and fell in love with due to its budget-friendly and personalized nature. So gather your friends or family members for a holiday DIY party because we’re going to take you step by step on how to recreate these ornaments.
To Make Ornaments You Will Need:
- Transparent glass or plastic ornaments with removable tops. We found ours at a craft store but you can easily find them through an online seller as well, such as Amazon.
- Small items to fill baubles with. Get creative! For ours, we cut small pieces from holiday greenery found at a craft store as well as fake mini acorns and small metallic stars to add some sparkle. We made sure to also incorporate pops of red through fake holly. For an even more personalized feel, try putting in some photos of family, friends, or pets!
- Ribbon to hang ornaments
Step 1: Find opening of the plastic bauble, this may be from the top or the ornament may split into two pieces, we used a mixture of ornaments that included two types of openings.
Step 2: Find small decorative items to fill ornaments with. Get as creative as you’d like! Just make sure that the items will fit through the opening of the ornament; if you’d like to fill with larger items, we suggest purchasing the ornaments that open from the middle rather than the top.
Step 3: Finish off with your choice of ribbon.
Step 4: Hang your ornaments on display and enjoy the fun, festive touch they add to your lineup of décor!
